Blog Experience

My blog experience has been quite good. Even though I had more difficulties with some of them. I think I have enjoyed this experience a lot. In the first semester of this year, in my other English class we used to do the same thing, and I really like this as an evaluation, because you write about very interesting things and things that you like, or even people that you love. And I think that this blogs make a different experience for the students. I have known people who gets very stressed about tests in the usual or oral way, so I think this is the perfect instance for all of us to practice our English and feel comfortable about it. I will miss them the next semester.
I have enjoyed pretty much every one of them, because I think they all bring me back to beautiful memories and I have learned a lot of new words or the use of words that I have already known before, but I probably could choose a favorite and I think that would be the one I talk about my sister, or the one I talk about a special meal.
I think there’s one I definitely enjoyed least, and it was the one I talk about chilean Fiestas Patrias. And that’s not because I have some trouble with that blog, it is jus because I just don’t like the Fiestas Patrias at all… well, maybe the food, but that’s all.
The post that was more difficult to make was actually the videos that we had to make, because even though I have a great personality, it is hard to me talking to a camera in a serious way and I get a little embarrassed.

I think the the posts I enjoyed reading the most was their special meal. I think those are such great memories.

Fiestas Patrias

I actually, and as a really unpopular opinión, don’t like Fiestas Patrias. And that maybe would be because when I was Little, the only thing we would do for that holiday is going to my Grandad’s house in the beach. You may find this very funny, but I’ve always hated spending more tan one hour sitting in a car to travel and El Tabo is almost three hours away from Santiago, and as it is my Grandfather’s house, I have always go there so I don’t find it very interesting. Also I don’t like all the patriotic stuff so I don’t enjoy it very much.

Actually, this holidays I didn’t went to any fonda or something like that. I just dedicated my time to hang out with my best friend and watching movies, and obviously do things for my workshop clases, because they won’t let us rest. In my house my family made a lunch for celebrating all together, but that’s all. The funniest thing about that was my Little cousin Isabel, who was almost two months at the moment, and I like babies so I spend most of the time in that lunch taking care of her and playing with her.

Something I feel passionate about.

This is a really hard blog for me to make, because I think I am a very passionate person, and I think I put that in everything I do. Everything.
But a thing that really makes me crazy in this life, is watching movies and series. I really enjoy the way that a person can show you something, anything (you know, like sad or funny stories, or even horror), and you can feel like the characters in the screen too.
I have to say I like movies and series that makes you feel something, obviously. But I think I am optimistic enough to find a good thing in everything that I watch, even in Adam Sandler.
I like movies so much that I would not be able to tell you what my favorite movie is. But I can say I really like Tarantino (who doesn't!), my favorite Tarantino's movie is Inglorious Basterds. Another director I really like is David Fincher (from Fight Club and Social Network), and my favorite from him is Se7en. The only thing I'm going to tell you is that they are really, REALLY good movies (and directors!).
My favorite serie is Breaking Bad. The sad thing is that BB is actually the first serie I've always watched as a secquency, so I can't watch another, because I think nothing is in the level of Breaking Bad. And it is really sad, because I've left undone a lot of series (Better call Saul, as an example!)

A chilean landmark I would like to visit.

My dream has always been to visit San Pedro de Atacama (even though I don't like the north because it is really hot). But the place I would die to go to (I'm not serious, just joking, haha), is the Moon Valley. I want to go there because I think it is a beautiful place to be with yourself or with someone you love, so I would go with my sisters.
Also, the stars have always seemed something really interesting to watch and understand, so you can imagine how amazed I would be in the clearest sky in the whole world.
In the second place I would like to know more of its culture, so I obviously would stay in the San Pedro de Atacama town, because it is a whole different way of living, even though globalization has it as its own (I've heard they have internet and satellital TV). But I find it very interesting to watch its amazing adobe houses (and the whole town).
The last thing I would love to know about this town in Chile, would be its history. This place was Inca in the first place, so I think this is something really interesting to learn about, and how the hispanian culture started to arrive and how the people has been changing.

I think San Pedro de Atacama is a very interesting place as its own. I believe is a powerful place, full of energies and history. This is definetly I place in Chile I have to go.

AMSTERDAM

The city I would like to visit is Amsterdam, the capital of the Netherlands, and actually, its more popular city. It is actually known for being the most permissive city in the world and that is the first reason why I would like to go there, because here in Santiago, and Chile in general, we have this very conservative society, and I believe Amsterdam can make a great difference in the way we (and me, obviously) as Chileans see the world, because of their extremely different culture (which I believe is  a good thing!), So I would go to its coffee shops and the red light district and its clubs. I also want to go to Amsterdam because of its rich architectural history, from its wooden buildings to the 19 century’s buildings and I believe I would be fascinated with all of them. Another interesting thing about this city are its parks. Amsterdam has many parks, open spaces, and squares throughout the city, where the people go and do a lot of different things – such as picnics and open air theaters! Here in Chile we don’t have this “let’s go to the park” idea, so I think this is a great thing to make a contrast about. I would also like to have a trip on their canals! (they are not known as North Venetia for nothing). And the last (but not the least) thing I would go to Amsterdam is to go to the Anne Frank Museum (the house where she and her family hid during the Nazi regimen), and the Van Gogh and the Rembrandt House Museum (and all the Museum Square, actually!)

A special meal

This special meal I'm going to talk about was actually not long ago, I don't remember the date but I know it was a thursday in July, this winter. Those days were the first days of this semester so I had free time on thursday mornings. I told that to my best friend and we decided to go to this Bodies exposition in Florida Center, because we've always wanted to go (this exposition had come like 8 years ago, but both of us haven't go in that time). So we took the metro train and went to this mall.
The expo was great, I expected more but I was very surprised with everything I saw there. Then we went to the mall, because the expo was right outside it, and eat in Mc Donald's. We started talking about a lot of things, and suddendly Cyndi Lauper came as the topic of the conversation. I told him I like that singer a lot because it brings me back to when I was a kid and I listened to her in the way back to my house from the beach with my father. He told me his favorite song was 'Time after time'. Wich is mine too!
Then it was getting late for my class in the afternoon, so we took the metro back to the university. He didn't have classes at that time, so he left me in FAU, and then went to see a friend of his. But he came to 'pick me up' later, when my class ended.
We were walking in Alameda, on the way to our house, and we saw a sushi restaurant. It was new so it was very cheap. He invited me there and when we started walking into the restaurant... you wouldn't believe it... Time after time was playing!! We look at each other and hugged, then we ate our meal with the rhythm of a lot of 80's music- Cyndi. I believe it was magic! because it was so much coincidence (and the sushi was SO good!).

Constanza

The girl I’m going to talk about is actually my sister, Constanza. I met her when she was born, because I’m almost exactly a year and a half older than her. That was almost 18 years ago, what I obviously don’t remember. I like her because she is really smart and funny. We usually laugh at very silly things, watch movies (because we share the same love for them), talk about really important things (as it’s said in Chilean words, we “fix the world”), because she’s a really mature girl for her age and you can talk about everything with her. We also discuss a lot, but a moment later the fight is old story and we love each other again.
Since I am in the university we haven’t been expending a lot of time together, but we see each other almost every day (she lives with my grandparents, 30 seconds away from my house).

I think my sisters are a very special part of my life, but Cony, as she likes to be called, has been a fundamental part of my life, because she gives me advices, she listens to me when I need her, she has more emotional intelligence than me and she always help me with thing that overwhelm me, or she gives me her opinion about stuff and we listen to each other, even though we are not always agree and fight. I really love her, and even though she doesn’t say it very often (because she’s not demonstrative at all) I know she loves me too.

My blog experience has been quite good. Even though I had more difficulties with some of them. I think I have enjoyed this experience a lot...
